Water Rescue Dogs

Now here is something you don’t see every day: dogs being thrown out of helicopters.

The Italian school of water rescue dogs is an amazing part of the coast guard and these well-trained mutts will follow their masters anywhere. Not only that, they will save your life too. When we had lunch with the team in-between filming they told us that the dogs could tow up to 12 people in the sea. They had been to an aircraft training facility in France and were pitched against two airhostesses on an inflatable raft equipped with ping-pong bat paddles. Guess who won?
