Giving Nature a Voice: 154 Voices for Nature
During London Climate Action Week 2026, Crows Nest Films had the privilege of documenting 154 Voices for Nature—an inspiring public project created with the University of Exeter’s Nature and Climate Impact Team, Cats Do Climate and Speakers’ Corner for Nature.
To mark the 154th anniversary of Speakers’ Corner, people from across science, the arts and the wider public were invited to answer one powerful question:
If nature could speak, what would it say?
Over two extraordinary days, our crew filmed at Speakers’ Corner and locations across London as the city experienced an intense early summer heatwave. Despite the challenging conditions, 154 individuals stepped onto Atelier Van Leishout‘s MonkeyRock box to speak on behalf of the natural world, creating a unique record of voices united by a shared concern for our planet.
Contributors included musician Louis VI, artist Jeremy Deller, folk singer Sam Lee, climate activist Daze Aghaji, musician and activist Madame Gandhi, alongside scientists, campaigners, students, families and members of the public.
Produced by Crows Nest Films, the project was led by Director and Editor Carney James Turner, Production Manager and Editor Fleur Willcox-Jones, Executive Assistant Jeremy Gildersleve, with Camera Assistants Schyler Rice and Sandy McGregor. We were proud to work alongside Professor Gail Whiteman, Helen Clay, Michelle Roopnarine and Jennifer Minard, whose vision brought together research, creativity and public engagement in a truly memorable way.
This film is more than a record of an event. It captures a moment when one of the world’s oldest platforms for free speech became a platform for nature itself—reminding us that meaningful change often begins by listening.
We’re proud to have documented this remarkable project and to share the finished film with you.
