Ever wondered what a medieval rock video would look like?

Wonder no more, we're knocking one up for you right now.  We were at Kenilworth Castle today, getting our joust on for English Heritage Carney has never been known to turn down a tankard of warm mead.  Coupled with his faithful limping serf Richard Hitchcock-Wynne, we had been asked to create an exciting pop video about this sport of kings.  The captain is not a mathematician and neither is Richard, but the basic maths is this: 2 large beasts + 2 large men + lots of cold steel X sharp stabbing weapons = Pride Pie2 .  In the days before physics, this was the original linear particle collider, and what came out of it? 

A group of honour atoms orbited by noble electrons.  Back in the day, a pauper could become a prince in this skill-based lotto.  As the sport became more refined, so did the people taking part.  By the end of its popularity, people were jousting for handkerchiefs.
