Underground Head Crows Nest Films

This man's a living legend, and he's on display at the V&A.

Crows Nest crew have been granted an audience with Jim Haynes today.  We're enjoying the privilege of filming the protagonist of the British underground scene who is, himself, installed as an exhibit at the world's largest museum of decorative arts and design, The Victoria And Albert in South West London.  He truly is a Living Legend.

Louisiana born Haynes was instrumental in founding the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Traverse Theatre during his time in Edinburgh.  Slap bang in the middle of the Swinging Sixties, Jim moved to London where he co-founded I.T. with John "Hoppy" Hopkins.  We're with Malcolm Boyle filming for the forthcoming documentary Hoppy: Underground HeadMalcolm Boyle and Carl Stickley were approached by Hoppy to film a full biographical interview with him.  The interviews conducted with Hoppy and his contemporaries yielded fascinating, funny and shocking stories about the Sixties underground scene and alternative culture, inspiring the production of this exciting documentary that has already become linked to the V&A exhibition You Say You Want A Revolution.

Geoffrey Marsh

If you can't wait for the documentary to hear some of Jim's tales you can either have Sunday lunch with him, at his home, in Paris, or you can pore over his achingly fascinating life story, as told by him, in this self penned biography.

Malcolm and Carney are also going to be interviewing the incomparable Geoffrey Marsh, curator of this and the iconic David Bowie Is exhibition.  You can get a little sneak peek at goings on if you keep an eye on our periscope.
