Fake bomb on network

London takes measures to improve security responses.

Crows Nest Films has been working with TFL on a training film about what to do if you find a suspicious package on the TFL network. This includes buses, boats and of course trains. Not mentioning any names but a friend of Ivo who has a name that sounds like David made a box of the most realistic looking bombs we had ever seen. We drove around all week in the crew truck with these dropping them in bins and asking people to calmly evacuate. With a heightened level of threats to the UK, and especially as London’s infrastructure is a target, these preparations are invaluable. It is wise to know what to

do when something with wires and a phone is left in a public place. Either a production company is making a film about what to do if you find one of these packages, or it is the real deal.  Fortunately this was facilitated by those calming and hard-core chaps at London Metropolitan Police who came to evaluate and subsequently control the area in each of our set ups.

Putting the old team back together for this was a great move by Ivo. Carney on Steadicam. Dan on sound and Richard doing the foot rubs and cuddles when it all got a bit cold and real. There were many highlights over the week but whizzing up and down the Thames in a police boat with its blues and twos on was one.
