We're filming with CBBC's Blue Peter.
Skegness is so bracing today and we're loving it.
Fleur and Carney have been working with the team at the BBC on the world's longest running childrens show - Blue Peter. CBBC have invited us to join them in Skegness where the roar of the Stoxkarts fills the stadium.
Presnters Joel Mawhinney and Shini Muthukrishnan have bust out of the Blue Peter Studio to enjoy the thrills, spills and the adrenaline atmosphere of real contact racing: Stoxkarts.
"We've been working with Blue Peter for number of years," says PM and Accountable Manager, Fleur, "but I still get so excited when one of the team asks if we'll help out on a shoot. I've still got my Blue Peter badge from 1985 so my inner 7 year old is giddy every time and they're such a great team to work with. We provide drone services for some of their shoots, from both Adam and Abby's first abseiling challenge to live streaming our drone feed of Lindsey's final challenge - zorbing and taking off in a hot air balloon at Salford Quays. One of our favourites was filming Richie Driss climbing the Old Man of Hoy and Carney and I were absolutely thrilled when the piece won Best Factual Entertainment at the North West Royal Television Society awards."
Today's mission sees Joel and Shini racing Stoxkarts. Based around a 390cc Honda 4 stroke engine with a centrifugal clutch, Stoxkarts will reach speeds in excess of 50mph. A lap of a track such as Skegness Raceway would be completed in just over 17 seconds. We'll be chasing after them with our fleet of drones. CAA qualified pilot Carney currently flies 2 Crows Nest Films drones a Mavic 3 Pro and an Avata. There's also a Mini 3 Pro when we need to launch that.
At first glance a Stoxkart may seem small – they are afterall the smallest of all the ‘contact’ formulas – but what they lack in size they more than make up for in every other department... exciting, fast, rugged and most importantly affordability! With each Stoxkart being built to the exact same specification with NO modifications being allowed, this means that winning or losing a race is down to driver ability rather than the size of your cheque book. Stoxkarts... small in size... low on cost...BIG on THRILLS!
