Carney is out in Davos for the World Economic Forum this week.
Working with Ed Henderson and Richard Hitchcock-Wynne for Arctic Basecamp, the team will be camping out with a team of scientists in -10°C to speak science to power to encourage bold climate action.
Arctic Basecamp was created by Professor Gail Whiteman as a vehicle to bring this message of Arctic risk to global leaders. Arctic Basecamp works with global scientists and world-class organisations and individuals raising awareness of the global risks from Arctic change and to highlight the urgent need for scalable solutions to climate change.
This flagship event brings the Arctic to the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting at Davos in Switzerland where they set up a real Arctic science basecamp, with an expedition tent acting as their workplace during the day and their dormitory at night, camping in sub-zero temperatures calling for action from global leaders to apply responsive and responsible leadership to address global risks from Arctic change.
Speakers include Dr Jemilah Mahmood and Sandrine Dixson-Declève and you can use Global Climate Risk's interactive globe to scrape and geolocate news stories about the Arctic from around the globe in real time.
