We're back with the Blue Peter crew.
Blue Thunder has rolled in to Red House Farm - the wonderful organic farm at Dunham Massey.
Fleur cleared for take off and our CAA approved pilot, Carney, scrambled the DJi Mavic 2 Pro to get some mucky aerial magic of Lindsey, Lewis and the team. We're thrilled to be working with CBBC crew again and Red House Farm is idyllic.
Today has been all about muck spreading.
Family run for over 250 years, Red House Farm is a 55 acre, Soil Association certified organic farm on the outskirts of Greater Manchester. It primarily produces Manchester’s only organic free-range eggs, as well as cereals, fruit and vegetables and has a fledgling pork business. They strive for sustainability and have animal welfare and biodiversity at the heart of everything they do. It has recently been taken over by the latest generation of the Clare family, with the Lewis looking to be at the cutting edge of modern, environmentally sustainable, organic production combined with a desire to provide social goods for the wider community. You can buy their lovingly farmed organic vegetable bags and other treats here. Hopefully it won't be long before their tea room (which, according to Waitrose is one of the 7 best in the whole country) will be welcoming visitors again.
The organic market garden at Red House Farm is run by chief grower Nick. Developing the fruit and vegetable production forms part of the wider vison for the farm's future.
