Days of Thunder

Hits: 43

We're filming with Blue Peter in Wales today.

Captain Carney is drinking in the exquisite vistas of Eryri with the Pedr Glas criw as Adam and Richie go head to head in the latest challenge.  Move over Hamilton and Räikkönen, today is all about Beales and Driss.  They're all geared up for a gravity-fuelled adventure with Quarry Karts at Zip World.  It's the UK’s only mountain cart experience, where they'll race head to head down the Penrhyn Quarry mountains, alongside the world’s fastest zip line. We'll be capturing the thunder of the unique dirt track from the sky enjoying the excitement of twists and turns to incredible views on the Snowdonia mountain range and beyond the horizon with our DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone. We'll also be whipping out the Kessler crane to catch the burning rubber from all angles.

Working with the incredible CBBC team has been an absolute highlight of 2020 for Carney and Fleur - both proud Blue Peter badge holders.  Fleur secured hers in the 1980's with a cracking drawing of Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit, and Carney earned

his for abseiling down a cliff face with Adam on his first ever challenge along with Buxton Mountain Rescue Team.

You can watch this incredible challenge on Blue Peter's YouTube channel here.

You can't just fly drones willy nilly and at Crows Nest we have a PfCO and use only CAA approved pilots.  Before Carney arrives on site with the UAV, Hoodman launchpad and high vis, Fleur puts in the hours speaking to local air traffic control, council and police to secure permissions and notices.  Big thanks to our friends at RAF Valley, Gwynned Council and North Wales Police for their help with today's shoot, and thanks to Zip World for having us.
