Reynier and Turner

You've got to pick a copper or two.

Carney has been filming on a foray in Moray today.  The Captain met up with Renegade Mark Reynier to head to Forsyths in Rothes, Scotland to see the early stages of Renegade Rum's still production at the world's leading coppersmith.

Alexander Forsyth bought the still business in 1933 running it with his son Ernest, known as Toot, on his return from service in WWII. Today 4th generation Richard Ernest Forsyth runs the business and over the last 85 years it has won a plethora of awards.  Today their stills remain handcrafted and hand-shaped with some of the world's finest whiskys, gins, tequilas and bourbons being made in their pots.

Mark Reynier is a legend in the modern whisky industry, and was most well known for rejuvenating the Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay.  In 2014 he bought a former Guinness brewery in Ireland, and launched Waterford Distillery.  Reynier's newest venture, Renegade Rum, is set to produce the world's finest rum.  Once completed the stills will embark on an epic voyage to Grenada in the West Indies, where CaneCo's local farmers cultivate, propogate and farm superior sugarcane on the island for the uber-premium rum.
