Here we were cramped into Andy Bate's parents' kitchen somewhere in rural Kent.

His Mum talks to us about young master Bates (sorry Andy). She shows us how to make the classic Bakewell tart. On a different note, the Crows Nest is but a stones throw from the town of Bakewell and we know of no tarts there. Bakewell pudding is an altogther different beast with a filo type pastry and a failed egg custard....
