Jim, Allan and farmers Andrew Jones and James Brown talk us through the annual battle against geese, deer and rain to bring home the barley. The harvest is the most critical time of all. Islay has a wild and unforgiving climate allowing the farmers a very small window of opportunity to harvest this soon to be liquid gold. In true Islay style the backbone of this film came when Carney and Richard had one of the quite remarkable seafood platters at the Loch Indaal in Port Charlotte. Two locals strummed up a tune and we just happened to have a camera there to capture it.
